Fedor Emelianenko needed just one punch on Saturday night to end former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski's upset bid.
Even when Arlovski got off to a fast start, Emelianenko kept his cool and bided his time until he saw an opening.
Arlovski, who was using boxing skills that have been upgraded by boxing guru Freddie Roach, looked like he was implementing his game to perfection from the opening bell. He was landing leg kicks and sharp right hands, while slipping Emelianenko's wide shots.
The heavyweights got into a clinch and Arlovski was able to prevent Emelianenko from taking him down, where Emelianenko could utilize his vast array of submissions.
Finally, Fedor Emelianenko put Andrei Arlovski to sleep with a perfect overhand right in the first round at "Affliction 2: Day of Reckoning".
So far, he has beaten five ex-champions of UFC: Arlovski; Tim Sylvia; Kevin Randleman; and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Mark Coleman, each of whom lost to Emelianenko twice.
